In the aftermath of a worldwide EMP event that set mankind back a long ways, John Walker and his extended family and friends have built a new way of life in the canyons of Lake Powell. Living in peace isn't always easy, but they are proving that meeting force with greater force makes everybody safer.
After creating the 'Wolf Pack', an all-woman and very well-trained force of dedicated fighters, John's ladies continue their development with the addition of even more of these special women who wanted to be involved in making the country safer and to help build a new way of life. Life in the Canyons has taken a new road- one that promises to be very exciting.
After an extended road trip to locate John's son Jack, word of problems in the Gulf threaten the supply of coffee and other goods that are being imported thru the efforts of John and his group. They soon find themselves heading into another dangerous situation.
A Long Lonely Road Book 22 Call of the Wolf eBook TJ Reeder
Wow what a satisfying book. It was really nice to find out more about John and his adult son. The new situations with the Wolf Pack(s) is a wonderful twist on this ongoing saga. Can't wait to read more of John Walker's adventures. Also, for anyone that hasn't read Mr. Reeder's 1 Zombie Book 'Zombies ... What If?' I would recommend it as a fun read and it looks like Mr. Reeder will write another one of these books. Yeah!!
One minor item. Mr. Reeder uses the word wondering (a feeling caused by seeing something that is very surprising, beautiful, amazing, etc.) instead of wandering (roaming about from place to place frequently), from the very first book of this story, which made me stop and reread a sentence a few times to make sure I knew what was going on. I didn't pay too much attention because the author warns of misspelling, etc. However I wanted Mr. Reeder to know that, as imitation is a sincerest form of flattery, many new authors are picking up this misspelled word because they are using his style of writing a story.

I'm starting the second Zombie book they are also great!
As per usual T. J. gives us another great story in this series of gems. I really hate the wait between books , and dang it he leaves us a cliff hanger , shame on you lol. Well I will try to be patient but it's hard and I blame you T.J. if you would write a boring story I would not have this problem, but seriously thanks for the great stories, and please hurry up on the next one.
Another great book in the series. No high drama except for the flame thrower and the still overdue whippin' of certain persons in SLC. The characters in the series have become familiar to the point I look forward to their every adventure. I like the fact Reeder doesn't rehash/cut and paste important character development from previous books in consecutive books...I actually skip reading some authors because of this. I highly recommend starting to read this series with "The Beginning" book one in order to get to know the character's as they've developed over the 21 previous books...a fun project.

I just love this series.....if only the books were longer, I rate them at 4 stars. I can easy read any one installment in a couple of hours....that seems more like a short story or possibly a novella. I also rather resent paying so much for each segment....oh well...enough bitchin'!
I am a devoted fan of John and his ladies. I enjoy getting to know them all better with each new yarn. Reeder' s style is definitely that of a down-home storyteller....something you could enjoy while sitting around a campfire. Once you get used to reading his vernacular, it flows very naturally.
Recommended.
I have most of Mr. Reeder's books and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. It has reached the point where John and his people are like family and each book is like a letter from home. This issue regarding the flame thrower it really made my day. Some people say cats have no personality, everything about Wilkins is believable. I just refer any questions I might have to our resident feline supervisors. Cats are smarter than they get credit for---just look at their system. Great series looking forward to the next installment.

As Bill Hodges wrote, this is like visiting family with each new adventure. In this case, literally, as John connects with some loose ends left over all the way back in Book One. I loved this story and the characters only get better with time. I am not a cat person but I need to figure out where to get a Wilkins for myself. This story has it all, and even opens up some new areas that I won't spoil with the next story. Also, loved the cover art. Not something I even usually notice in books but this is very eye-catching. Great job. For new readers, go back and start at Book One and read as fast as you can. If you are not with the Grammar Police, you will enjoy.
